...submitted file processing for everyone since the last 'temporarily down'
has been solid E's and the last 19~20 days worth of updated and new
entries for everyone are gone. Shocked

Heh, shows the difference different people can see; I'd thought it was really smooth, given I've had no errors at all! It seems to catch up crazy fast these days, sure it was 2 days behind earlier today, yet I just uploaded a file and it was processed not 2 mins later Shocked Although whether the fast catching up is down to it erroring out everyone else's files may be another question... Razz

I only had two files error out, but I don't usually get any errors so that still surprised me.

Something else odd that I noticed, I have a habit of taking a census and uploading it each time one of my characters levels so I have a record of their progression, and it looks to me like I am missing more of that data now than just two errors would represent. Makes me wonder if we lost more data than just the lost files.

Many days of data have gone missing.

1974ER's note to self for instance.
May 07, 13 17:06
Total new ones 3,586,820
Total updates 20,352,240

Last Visit May 11, 13 - he has visited between then and now.

and today's #'s
Total New Entries 3,592,619
Total Updated Entries 20,378,495
This Month New Entries 2,491
This Month Updated Entries 10,675

Only 26k in updates and 6k in new in 2 weeks? No, that's not even 2 days
at his rate.

Also I passed Hybuir for 10th updated spot a few days ago but now I'm in
12th after losing about 350k of updated entries.

I am unable to verify or deny anything specific, because for me, the other side of site has been "Temporarily offline" for a fairly long time already, well over 31 hours to be specific (judging by the creation times of my stockpile folders).

However, if something was showing me as last online on the 11th, that can't be right, because my own characters were up-to-date to the 17th the last time I was able to look at that specific page. And I have made other posts after 11th on this side, as well.

EDIT: I finally got the other side to show up again...

May 18, 13 12:16:26 1319 5046 Y
May 18, 13 06:13:44 359 1551 Y

My May 18 to May 20... seems incremental files preserved some data, but caused an insane size spike after failures.

Submission graphs are gone from everyone who I looked at, Padanfain had a MASSIVE failure streak roughly the same time my 2 files failed, etc. I will be uploading some of my backlog to see whether it will agree to process correctly...

EDIT 2: I am unable to upload. Testing cancelled for now. Sad

Hi There,

We have just finished moving WCR to a much more powerful server. Their were a few hiccups along the way but I believe most of the move is now completed.

I will soon begin working on a variety of updates based on MoP. I will also begin retiring sections of the site that will not be maintained.

The Best,

Metal

The site is now accepting uploads for version 6.0.1
Both direct upload and Uniuploader version of uploads were tested.

Attempt to upload causes the above. No error messages, just that. And no data goes through. Sad

Check to verify the version number in the upload file

["Info"] = {
["Version"] = "6.0.1",
},

I deleted the other lines out of my Info section.

Also you might be seeing an artifact of DNS update delays...
Metalbeast has moved the site to newer hardware at a IP location.. and your ISP might still have the old IP in their tables.. until the update propagates to your side of the world.

Depending on ISP it can happen very quickly or as late as the time to live of the address (1 hour for most of warcraftrealms.com.. unless they are really screwed up and don't follow the DNS rules.

Sounding good, hope this fixes all the problems! Smile I've only had one error through the process and actually it's after the last processed file so maybe that'll sort itself out anyway. I'll be delighted if we can be up to date and errorfree now, fingers crossed! Very Happy

Ärrinmurrin... Sad

I waited, manually edited to 6.0.1 and the results did not change, manual upload attempt of the file results in:

IP: 88.113.146.9
United Kingdom

Again, nothing else is shown, no error and no uplaad. I guess I try again late tonight, when additional about 16 hours have passed. Sad

Hmm, well mine are uploading, but...

May 22, 13 21:15:44 0 0 E
May 21, 13 20:14:52 0 0 E
May 21, 13 18:37:14 2269 3329 Y

Last processed file was uploaded on 2013-05-21 18:37:14.

One of those is confused about what time it's got up to Razz

The last processed file has been 18:37:14 for better than 36 hours, so I am guessing that it is no longer updating.

Last words I had from Metalbeast is that he is aware of the issue. The 6.0.0 uploads were put on hold so he could fix the problem with processing. While I'm not completely aware of Rollie's site design it is a very complex set of PHP that links the upload data to the database and another set that builds all of the pages with live data on the fly as you ask for the page.

I made the decision to pop up the version number to force people to upgrade because it wouldn't be obvious that 6.0.0 was incorrectly gathering census data, and many people would continue using the older version unaware that they were missing lots of characters.

As the only difference between 6.0.0 and 6.0.1 uploaded data is the single line with the version number the issue isn't really with the upload data. What I expect has happened is that while Metalbeast did get the two different upload paths updated to accept 6.0.1 he has missed a non-obvious data point that makes the database accept the data. This missed item(s) could be in PHP code or it could be in the Database control files. I'm sure he will find it soon, but I'm glad I'm not the one having to hunt down the changes.. the LUA for the addon was fun enough for me! Laughing

I had been assuming that the Last Processed File information wasn't updating. I hadn't realized that there had actually been no files successfully processed since then. That does put things in a different light.

When I try to submit the censusplus.lua (like the last 2 years), I get following error:

Quote:
IP: 77.22.xx.xx
United Kingdom
Problem: File exceeded upload_max_filesize. If you are seeing this, then your SavedVariables.lua file is too big (greater than 10meg)! To submit files this big, you need to use the UniUploader application. Find more info about it here: http://www.warcraftrealms.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=328

Filesize is a bit over 2MB, Census+ is actual (updated with Curse Client). Tried with different PCs, versions of Firefox and providers (VDSL50 Telekom, Cable "Kabel Deutschland").

Some IP-regions are wrong, mostly UK (like above) or France instead Germany.

I ran into the same thing with a file just a little over 2MB. I went ahead and downloaded UniUploader to submit the file, and discovered configuring that was a nightmare, but I got it to work. (That was before the migration.) My suspicion is that the upload_max_filesize has been reduced from 10MB to 2MB but the message has not yet been updated.

Until Metalbeast tells us that the site is ready to start processing files again, I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to upload the file. Right now files are not processing correctly anyway. Once that issue is resolved, I suspect your only option to upload that file will be to use UniUploader.
