I love pie! Do you like pie? Who doesn't like pie? Everybody loves pie!!

I love it so much, I brought pie to WarcraftRealms! Okay, I haven't quite lost my mind yet... head on over to the Quick Stats page and check out the little magnifying glass icon next to the row names. You can click on the little icon and be presented with a pie chart for that particular row!

Nifty, huh? I am still messing with it, but I thought I'd go ahead and let folks start checking it out. I may need to do some optimizations with the image generation, but let's see how it does like this first!

Another note: Anyone notice how the PVE (normal) and RP server statistics so closely match? For example, check this out:

Dwarf Gnome Human NElf Orc Taruen Troll Undead
Normal 12% 7% 25% 28% 6% 8% 5% 9%
RP 12% 7% 25% 28% 6% 8% 5% 9%

PVP 9% 6% 20% 21% 9% 11% 9% 15%

Paladin Druid Hunter Mage Priest Rogue Shaman Warrior Warlock
Normal 12% 10% 21% 9% 6% 12% 5% 15% 10%
RP 12% 10% 21% 9% 7% 13% 4% 14% 9%

PVP 10% 8% 17% 10% 8% 18% 7% 14% 9%

* Taken from the Quick Stats

Now, what can we learn from this? Well, I haven't the foggiest idea, but damn isn't that strange?!

What is obvious across all of WoW...

Alliance is more popular than Horde. Alliance is better on PvP servers for some simple reasons.

1. More "safe" zones in the 20-40 range. Zones where there is no Horde town.

2. Hordes MAIN 20-30 zones are adjacent to 40+ zones and Horde has TWO zones where Alliance towns are within a 30 second trip(Tarran Mill anyone?).

3. NE are gay and therefore :P

*shrug*

I'd have to disagree, the higher up in level you sample the data the more even distribution between the two factions, this is especially true on PvP servers. I would suggest that casual players lean more towards rolling alliance, especially humans and to some degree NE's. Nothing suggests Horde has a harder time levelling, in fact some would suggest the opposite.

Alliance vs Horde on most Normal and RP servers are going to make it hard to get an even playing field for PvP. Many PvP servers have a bigger chance of success but having 2 sides only instead of 3 like daoc makes for a more fragile balance.

PvE and RP are very close indeed. But I got another FCA studying the difference between them for race choice... conclusion :
- players find it hard to ropleplay Tauren and undeads
- human are considered the easiest class to roleplay, along with elves and (suprise) trolls
